June 14, 2013

Extremist settlers burnt two cars belonging to Jerusalemites in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah in east Jerusalem on Friday early morning hours. They also wrote “payback” slogans in Hebrew on the wall of a residential building. The surveillance cameras installed on one of the residential buildings in the area monitored four settlers as they invaded a street in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem around 2.30 a.m. and one of them started writing racist slogans on the outside wall of a residential building (payback, revenge, etc…), while the other three poured flammable liquid on two cars and set them on fire; the cameras revealed the attempt to burn a third car. Mousa Alami explained that upon arrival to the neighbourhood with his friends, the two cars were already burning and they were able to extinguish one of them but failed on the second one. He also pointed out that the police along with the fingerprints experts, intelligence and fire extinguishing team arrived at the scene and took pictures and investigated the accident.
