Extending the arrest of 9 Jerusalemites and the conditional release of 9 others
The Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of 9 Jerusalemites and released 9 others with conditions. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the judge extended the arrest of Suhaib Rajabi until Monday to submit an indictment against him that will include hitting an Israeli policeman with a chair and injuring him; note that Suhaib was arrested last Friday and was presented twice to court, on Saturday and Sunday. Mohammad added that the judge extended the arrest of Sameh Eweisat until Tuesday to also submit an indictment against him for participating in an illegal protest and throwing stones; the judge also extended the arrest of Yousef Al-Atrash until next Tuesday. The lawyer added that the judge released on Sunday 17-year old Ahmad Jalal Al-A’war and Ahmad Faraj Da’na with a third-party bail of 5000 NIS and house arrest for 5 days and allowing them to go to school with a companion. Mufeed Al-Hajj, prisoner’s club lawyer, explained that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of: Mousa Bilal Assouli, Mus’ab Amjad Mujahed, Fadi Bassam Mamlook, Ma’moon Adnan Natsheh and 14-year old Ahmad Jom’a Khanfar until Tuesday to submit an indictment against them for participating in an illegal protest last Tuesday in Jerusalem along with throwing stones. Al-Hajj added that the Israeli police released on Saturday night the following: 31-year old Mohammad Salim, Isam Hasan Yousef and his brother Dia’ Hasan Yousef, 17-year old Firas Karkoor, 18-year old Mohammad Samman and 25-year old Ma’moon Dweik with a third-party bail and house arrest from 08:00 p.m. until 06:00 a.m.; he also noted that 16-year old Mohammad Karkoor was released late Friday night. The court also extended the arrest of Mohammad AL-Atrash until Tuesday. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Magistrate court judge recently sentenced 19-year old Ayoub Afaneh for 8 months of actual imprisonment, knowing that Ayoub have been arrested since last April after raiding his home in Sur Baher; note that his brother Ismaeel had spent 12 years in the Israeli prisons from his 18-year sentence.
