September 30, 2013

A large Israeli force raided the house of Khalil Abbasi “Abu Firas” which is located in the neighbourhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan under the pretext of searching for weapons. Abu Firas told Wadi Hilweh Information Center that he was surprised when a large Israeli force accompanied by police dogs broke into his house under the pretext of searching for weapons. He explained that the forces precisely searched all the rooms along with searching the bathroom and kitchen and its contents; they also went on the roof during which they broke some of the house’s contents. Abu Firas added that the forces searched his garden and the animals’ barns in which they destroyed the animals’ food under the pretext of “inspection”. He explained that the Israeli forces forced the residents to evacuate the house during the searching process and only allowed him to stay with them, noting that they let the dogs in to help with the searching process despite his objection; they also tried to provoke him and the family members by directing obscene words to them. The forces also searched nearby lands that surround the house of Abbasi family.
