The forces break into Al-Aqsa Mosque and injures and arrests dozens of citizens
The Israeli forces broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday noon and fired sound grenades and rubber bullets towards all worshippers. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that dozens of Israeli soldiers broke into Al-Aqsa through Dung and Al-Silsileh Gates and randomly fired sound grenades and rubber bullets towards the worshippers who were present in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They also assaulted the worshippers, journalists and paramedics using batons and forced them to leave the area. The forces also surrounded the worshippers in Al-Qibli and Al-Marwani Mosques and sprayed them with pepper gas including the elderly. The break-in lasted for 15 minutes and then they withdrew and stationed near Dung Gate while the young men chanted “victory” slogans. Dr. Ziad Sroor from Al-Aqsa clinics said that 28 citizens (children, young men and old people) were injured during the break-in and were treated in Al-Aqsa clinics. Dr. Ziad pointed out that the injuries were moderate and were mostly due to shrapnel of sound grenades. Also, dozens suffocated after they were sprayed with pepper gas while being surrounded inside Al-Qibli Mosque. In a related matter, the police announced the arrest of 8 young men while they were exiting Al-Aqsa Mosque on charges of throwing stones. Among the detainees were: 20-year old Amer Abbasi, 19-year old Mohammad Abbasi and 20-year old Ammar Husari.
