Arrests…extension of arrest and releases
The Prisoner’s Club explained that the Israeli police arrested Ahmad Jamal Abu Alya, Thaer Abu Sneineh and the 16-year old Khader Abu Farha on Monday morning after raiding their homes in the Old City of Jerusalem. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of Abdullah Abbasi and Omar Abbasi until 22/09/2014; note that they underwent a confidential court session. The judge also extended the arrest of 17-year old Mohammad Bujeh and 17-year old Mohammad Abbasi until 17/09/2014; note that they were arrested on Sunday night from the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud and were assaulted and severely beaten. The judge also extended the arrest of Mohammad Abu Hummus until 17/09/2014; note that he was arrested on Sunday night. The lawyer added that the Magistrate judge decided to release Mohammad Abu Sbitan with a financial bail and on condition of house arrest but the public prosecution appealed the judge’s decision in the District court and a session was supposed to be held on Tuesday to discuss the appeal. The judge also decided to release Mohammad Qaraeen from Beit Hanina with a third-party financial bail; note that he was arrested on Sunday night. The judge also released the minor Amir Bilbeisi with a financial bail and house arrest for five days. The public prosecution submitted on Monday an indictment to the Magistrate court against Ahmad Abu Sbitan that included charges of throwing stones. Lawyer Mahmoud explained that the Magistrate judge approved the appeal that he submitted in order to reduce the prison sentence of his minor client Shidad Al-A’war to one and a half months; Shidad will be released next Sunday.
