Settlers try to renovate a property they robbed from Qaraeen family in Silwan

Settlers tried on Thursday night to carry out renovation works in Qaraeen family house that was confiscated by settlers in the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the settlers closed the main street of Wadi Hilweh on Thursday around noon using a dumpster and the young men confronted them and opened the street. At night, the settlers tried to renovation works in Qaraeen house that taken-over ad verbal altercations and clashes using hands broke out between the settlers and the young men who confronted them and prevented them from working in the family’s land; the police and Special Forces arrived at the area and tried to protect to the settlers. The residents confirmed to the police and the settlers that the court issued an order to prevent the settlers from doing anything to the property of Qaraeen family in Silwan. Lawyer Midhat Deebeh explained that an urgent request was submitted to obtain a precaution order that prohibits settlers from doing anything with the property of Qaraeen family especially after they harassed the family members and assaulted their house. Lawyer Deebeh said that the precaution order bans the settlers from selling or leasing the property of even doing any renovation works to the property, and also prevents them from using the outside courtyard adjacent to the two houses. unnamed (5)
