A settlers’ march in the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem

Dozens of settlers participated on Wednesday night in the monthly “Gates” march raising Israeli flags and chanting slogans for the building of the “Temple”. The march initiated form the Wailing Wall towards Al-Qataneen market and passing by Al-Mujahedeen road reaching Lions Gate near Al-Aqsa Mosque. The occupation police forced the merchants to close their stores in the above mentioned streets in order to secure the monthly march and closed several streets in the Old City and established iron barriers. They also closed the Lions Gate Street and established barriers at the entrance of Silwan and in some of its roads. On the other hand, 58 settlers along with 20 soldiers raided on Wednesday morning Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate. One settler ripped his clothes near Al-Hadeed (Iron) Gate and another near Al-Silsileh (Chain) Gate. The occupation police assaulted a girl while she was at Al-Aqsa Mosque and pushed her to the ground in order the secure the settlers’ break-in. The police isolated Sana’ Rajabi from Al-Aqsa Mosque for 15 days. Also, the occupation police were heavily deployed in Ein Al-Lozeh Street after Molotov Cocktails were thrown at a settlers’ vehicle.
