The occupation forces arrested on Tuesday one child from Esawyeh during the clashes that broke out in the village. Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in Esawyeh, explained that clashes broke out in the village of Esawyeh and specifically in the middle of the village and in the neighborhood of Abu Rayyaleh and the forces fired grenades and rubber bullets. Abu Hummos added that the forces arrested on child from the neighborhood of Abu Rayyaleh. A session was recently held at the Israeli Supreme Court to listen to the claims of the locals of the village of Esawyeh against the occupation forces because of the recurrent closure of the village in the past few months. Abu Hummos explained that the locals of the village recently filed a claim to the Israeli Supreme Court regarding the “collective punishment” policy applied in the village for the past several months and which includes the closure of roads with cement blocks and iron barriers, raiding the village and deploying into its alleys and streets, spraying the locals with wastewater and targeting them with rubber bullets and grenades in addition to targeting their houses and commercial stores. Abu Hummos added that the occupation authorities continued close the southern entrance of the village with cement blocks thereby increasing the suffering of the population. Abu Hummos pointed out that the Supreme Court judges did not hear the claims of the locals’ lawyers but listened to the public prosecution and gave them three months to check the security situation in the village. Abu Hummos condemned the bias of the Israeli Judicial system towards the government and public prosecution and failing to objectively consider the suffering of the population of the village of Esawyeh from the police of “collective punishment.”
