July 28, 2015

The occupation forces assaulted the 15-year old Jerusalemite Abdel Karim Aziz Haddad and severely beat him while arresting and detaining him at Al-Silsileh Gate police station in the Old City of Jerusalem. Ala’ Haddad, the child’s uncle, explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation forces raided the house of Abdel Karim in the neighborhood of Al-Sa’dyeh in the Old City of Jerusalem around 11:30 p.m. on Monday to make sure he is home and is abiding by the house-arrest conditions imposed on him 4 days ago. Haddad added: “Despite the fact that Abdel Karim was in the courtyard of the house, the forces accused him of violating the house-arrest conditions and deliberately provoked him and his family and attempted to break into the rooms which led to the breakout of altercations and then the arrest of Abdel Karim.” Haddad explained that his nephew was assaulted inside the house and during the arrest and was detained inside the restroom of Al-Silsileh Gate police station. He was deliberately hit on his genitals and his waist. Haddad pointed out that the forces then transferred Abdel Karim to Al-Qishleh police center for interrogation where the internal bleeding injury was revealed after he had blood in his urine. He was immediately released without any conditions and his family took him to Al-Maqased hospital for treatment. In a related matter, the forces arrested on Monday night Obada Najib and Mohammad Abu Sneineh and assaulted both of them while transferring them to the police center.
