Breaking News: A decision to extend the arrest of the two children (Ayoubi and Rabee’) until 8 p.m.
An “urgent session” was held on Wednesday morning to discuss the decision made by the Chief of Police in Jerusalem to extend the arrest of the 12-year old Salah Yehya Ayoubi and the 12-year old Rami Mahmoud Rabee’. Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer explained that the Magistrate judge decided to extend the arrest of the two children until 8 p.m. and release them afterwards with a 2000-NIS bail and house-arrest until next Sunday for each. The police will continue to interrogate the children on charges of throwing stones at settlers’ vehicles passing through the street leading to Maale Adomim settlement. The lawyer submitted an appeal later Tuesday night against extending the arrest of the two children and the judge decided to hold an urgent session on Wednesday morning to further discuss their case. It is noteworthy that the forces arrested three children from the village of Esawyeh on Tuesday while they were heading home after they left school; extending their arrest was considered a precedent against Jerusalemite children.
