Arrests…prison sentences…extensions of arrest…and conditional releases
The occupation forces arrested on Thursday Issa Ali Dirbas after establishing checkpoints on the entrances of the village of Esawyeh as explained by Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village.
Abu Hummos explained that the occupation authorities established checkpoints on all entrances of Esawyeh and stopped vehicles, checked young men’s IDs and searched them.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the forces also arrested 16-year old Munir Mohammad Mheisen from the village of Esawyeh and assaulted him; he was injured with several bruises.
Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemite detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District judge sentenced on Thursday 21-year old Ahmad Yaser Baraghiti for 8 years of actual imprisonment and imposed a 120-thousand NIS fine on him after he was convicted of throwing a stone at an Israeli policeman in the Old City of Jerusalem and severely injuring him.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judge sentenced Adham Qirresh for a suspended probation of 4 months for three years and a 5-thousand NIS fine, and sentenced Haitham Qirresh for a suspended probation of 4 months for three years and a fine of 1000 NIS. He also sentenced Mahmoud Natsheh for 8 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 5 months for three years on charges of “incitement on Facebook”.
The judge extended the arrest of the minors Anas Dirbas, Ahmad Abulhawa and Wadi’ Alayan until 17/7/2016; a prosecutor’s permit was submitted in order to submit an indictment against them.
The judge also extended the arrest of Khader Abu Ghannam and Haitham Khweis until 28/9/2016, Mohammad Taha until 19/9/2016, Ahmad Odeh until 15/7/2016, Majd Obeid and Adam Mahmoud and Qusai Dari until 17/7/2016.
Also, the judge extended the arrest of Mohamamd Sufian Naser and Anas Abu Mayaleh until 21/9/2016, Ali Zawahreh until 17/7/2016 to submit an indictment against him, Rani Darwish until completing the legal procedures against him; Mohammad Jamal Mahmoud, Munir Mahmoud, Anwar Obeid and Ata Awadallah until 18/7/2016.
The judge decided to release the child Khaled Sukhon with a 3-thousand NIS bail, house-arrest and a third-party bail and also decided to release Mohammad Abu Aweis with a 5-thousand NIS bail, house-arrest and a third-party bail but the public prosecution requested to freeze the decision until they appeal it.
