After detaining the owner for one year…Demolishing an under-construction building in Beit Hanina

The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Wednesday morning an under-construction building in the area of “Tal Al-Fool” in Beit Hanina north of Jerusalem.

According to initial information available to Wadi Hilweh Information Center, the bulldozers demolished the building under the pretext of building without a permit.

The building is owned by Ayman Abu Rmeileh and was built 14 years ago. It consists of 3 floors where the ground floor included parking space, shelters and storage and the first included 3 apartments while the second was still under-construction as explained by the owner.

He added that the building was demolished this morning without prior notice, and the forces prevented him from reaching the building as the area was surrounded from all directions. He pointed out that he received a call from his neighbors informing him about the demolition.

He also explained that the municipality imposed a fine on him for violating the building permit as he exceeded the allowed area to build. He attempted to fix it and stopped construction years ago in an attempt to license it. he was arrested and detained for one year for not being able to pay the 850 thousand NIS fine imposed on him.
