The occupation municipality crews along with Israeli forces distributed on Friday demolition order to residential establishments and a storage in Silwan under the pretext of building without a permit.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that occupation forces along with municipality crews raided on Friday several neighborhoods in Silwan and randomly took pictures of establishments as well as the streets and roads leading to them especially the neighborhoods of Al-Bustan and its outskirts, Wadi Hilweh and Ein Al-Lozeh.
Fakhri Abu Diab, spokesman of the committee to protect property in Silwan, said the occupation forces and municipality crews distributed 16 judicial demolition orders in Al-Bustan owned by the families of Rweidi, Qadi, Abbasi, Shallodi and Hamdan; 118 people live in the targeted homes mostly women and children.
Abu Diab added that the municipality crews gave the residents 7 days to follow-up with the municipality regarding the demolition orders in order to obtain a building permit. He said: “The families that received the demolition orders today are residents of the area of Al-Bustan that is at risk of being demolished in favor on the occupation municipality’s project “King’s Park”. Several plans have been submitted in the last few years to license those homes but to no avail. According to the last decision made by the municipality, demolition orders of Al-Bustan establishments are postponed until 28/2/2017.”
On the other hand, municipality crews handed Um Mohammad Qaraeen a demolition order to a storage (12 square meters) in the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh under the pretext of building without a permit; it is built from bricks and tin plates.
