The Martyrdom of a Palestinian young man after being shot by the occupation forces in Jerusalem
A young Palestinian man from the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber south of Jerusalem passed away on Monday early morning after being shot by the occupation forces in the area of Lions Gate inside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem under the pretext of stabbing two Israeli policemen.
Witnesses explained to Wadi Hilweh Information center that the incident occurred near Lions Gate police station inside the Old City of Jerusalem and only meters away from Al-Aqsa Mosque. Occupation soldiers opened fire towards a young man from a close distance despite being able to neutralize and arrest him. It is noteworthy that the police evacuated him outside the police station by forces and then opened fire towards him. The young man was holding a stick in his hand when he was shot.
The occupation forces closed the area of Lions Gate with iron barriers and prevented locals from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the Dawn Prayer.
The police said in a statement that a young men entered the police station in the area of Lions Gate and stabbed two policemen before a third policeman opened fire towards him which led to his immediate Martyrdom.
