The Israeli occupation municipality forced Sultan Bashir on Tuesday to demolish his house in Jabal Al-Mukabber village south of Jerusalem under the pretext of building without a permit.
Sultan Bashir explained that the occupation municipality issued a decision 4 months ago to demolish his house, and since then he tried to postpone the demolition decision in order to license his house, but the municipality gave him until the last day of Sukkot holiday to implement the decision, or the municipality will carry out the demolition and he has to pay for the costs as well as municipal staff and police accompanying them.
Sultan Bashir was living in the house with his family of eight, which does not exceed an area of 50 square meters. The property is only one room (bedroom and lounge). Bashir said that he built it about a year ago fromdry wall, reinforced steel sheet and bricks, and built the roof from tin plates and wood, in order to avoid paying high rents, but the municipality quickly issued a demolition decision.
