On Friday, the occupation forces arrested 13 Palestinians from Jerusalem, while tension prevailed in the area of Damascus Gate after an assault on young men and women.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center learned that the occupation forces arrested 6 Jerusalemites from the village of Issawiya at dawn. They are: Anwar Obaid, Fayez Mheisen, Nadim Safadi, Adam Mahmoud, Nidal Farroukh and Saleh Abu Asab. They were arrested on the pretext of "breaking the house arrest order imposed on them", and after holding them for several hours, they were brought before a Magistrate’s Court judge who decided to release them.

Lawyers Jad Qadmani and Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Magistrate’s Court judge released the youths without conditions, but that does not mean that the nightly administrative house arrest decision issued against them is canceled and will remain in effect .... As it is not within the Magistrate’s Court’s powers to discuss the administrative decision but rather of the Supreme Court’s powers.

In the evening hours, the occupation forces arrested two young men. One of them was identified as Mohammad Haitham Mahmoud.
