On Saturday, Abu Turki family continued to self-demolish their two homes in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in Jerusalem, by decision of the occupation municipality in order to avoid paying the "demolition fees to the municipal bulldozers and the police forces accompanying them."

Abu Turki family explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that they had started since yesterday evening to demolish their homes that are owned by Yacoub and his son Issam. The 2 homes have an area of ​​85 square meters, in which 13 people, including 7 children, lived.

The family explained that the two houses were built 8 years ago from reinforced bricks and sheets, and the municipality issued a decision to demolish the building 3 years ago. The family started since that time organizing the land and licensing the facility, and the municipality imposed a construction violation fee of 70 thousand shekels and the family was committed to making the monthly payments.
