Extending the arrest of seven Jerusalemites
The Israeli Magistrate court extended on Monday the arrest of seven Jerusalemites including minors to continue investigating them. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of 26-year old Imad Abbasi and 22-year old Ashraf Abbasi until next Sunday; note that their session was confidential as well as the charges against them and they are being investigated in Al-Maskobyeh cells. It is noteworthy that the Israeli forces arrested 22-year old Ashraf Isam Abbasi on Monday early morning hours after raiding and searching his home in Silwan. The forces precisely searched all the rooms in the house and damaged the contents; they also detained all family members in one room and prevented them from talking to each other while Imad was arrested at the beginning of the current month. Lawyer Mohammad added that the judge extended the arrest of the child Mohammad Tamimi until Monday night, but the general prosecution submitted an appeal to the District court; note that he was arrested on Sunday. The Magistrate court judge also extended the arrest of the minors: Mohammad Akram Abulhawa, Fahed Abu Sbitan and Mohammad Ali Abulhawa until Wednesday on charges of throwing stones at settlers in Al-Tur; note that they were arrested on Sunday and Monday. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli police extended the arrest of 24-year old Hamza Abbasi for 24 hours. He was arrested by the Israeli forces from his work location in Al-Qatoon neighbourhood in West Jerusalem. In a related matter, the Magistrate court judge sentenced the minor Abdulla Nimer from Beit Hanina for “public service” for three months. Nimer was arrested in Ramadan in Damascus gate incidents on charges of participating in the events and was released few days later. A decision regarding the charges submitted against Mohammad Mutasem Abu Lafi from Al-Tur was postponed until 13/11/2013; note that the court released him on Monday on condition of open house arrest and a 7500-NIS bail.
