The Jerusalem municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Monday 4 residential houses and a building under construction in the towns of Beit Hanina and Esawyeh in the city of Jerusalem under the pretext of building without a permit. Wadi Hilweh Information Center pointed out that the municipality’s bulldozers demolished a residential barracks in Beit Hanina owned by Ahmad Abdelwahab Kiswani which he had built in the place of his house that was demolished last February. The Center added that the occupation municipality demolished the house of Hussein Ali Mousa for the second time in the village of Esawyeh; note that the first demolition was three years ago and was rebuilt for his son to live in. The neighbourhood of Ashqarya…families of Idris, Dab’i and Kiswani Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the municipality bulldozers demolished two apartments in the neighbourhood of Ashqarya. The first belongs to Azzam Idris where he lives with his wife and 6 children (oldest id 22 and youngest is 2) and the second belongs to Baha’ Dab’i, Idris’ son-in-law, where he lives with his wife and two children (oldest is 5years old and youngest is two); note that his wife is also pregnant. The area of each apartment is 125 square meters and consists of 4 rooms, a living room and its facilities and the two families have been living there for 3 years. The municipality imposed a building violation fee of 130 thousand NIS in 2011 and one of the payments was made yesterday. Idris said that the bulldozers demolished without prior notice. The forces surrounded the house and then evacuated him and his family and carried out the demolition operation on top of their furniture. Ibrahim Kiswani explained to the Center that the Israeli forces broke into his residential house (barracks) and broke the front door as well as the outside wall (iron fence). Ibrahim was lately forced to rent an apartment because he has a new born baby and the weather is cold. Kiswani explained that he was living in the barrack with his wife and 5 children where the oldest is 16 and the youngest is 10 months and the total area of the barrack is 45 square meters and consists of two floors; note that he had put up the barracks after the Israeli municipality demolished his home last year. He pointed out that he is still paying the violation fees for his home that was demolished as the municipality imposed a fee of 68 thousand NIS on him. Kiswani also noted that the bulldozers demolished his house last year claiming that the terrace does not exist in the blueprints of the house and came 5 days before the court session and didn’t only demolish the terrace but the whole house. The village of Esawyeh… The bulldozers also demolished a residential house for Hussein Ali Mousa in the village of Esawyeh under the pretext of building without a permit; note that the house is 70 square meters. One of Ali’s relatives said that the occupation forces raided the house without prior notice and that the house was demolished three years ago but was rebuilt in order to be used by his son after his marriage. He explained that the forces displaced the residents of the house (5 people) when they demolished it last time. The bulldozer also demolished a residential building for Abdel Hay Dari which consists of the ground floor (car parking and commercial stores), the first floor and the second one that is under construction with a total area of 250 square meters for each floor. After the demolition operations were over, clashes broke out between the young men and Israeli forces to protest against the demolition operations; the Israeli forces fired sound grenades and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters.
