Violent clashes in the neighbourhood of Al-Sowaneh during the welcoming of the freed prisoner Eyad Shalabi
Violent clashes broke out in the neighbourhood of Al-Sowaneh east of the walls of the Old City when the Israeli Special Forces attacked the event of welcoming the freed prisoner Eyad Shalabi. The Israeli forces arrested one young man and injured several others with wounds and bruises and one young man was injured with a rubber bullet in his forehead and was transferred to the hospital for treatment. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the vehicles of the Israeli police and Special Forces surrounded he participants and prevented them from moving forward and then fired sound grenades and rubber bullets towards them; they also assaulted and severely beat them. The Center was informed that the police arrested Ahmad Abu Lafi and released him with a financial bail after detaining him for several hours.
