The Jerusalemite Samir Maswadeh self-demolishes his house

The Jerusalemite citizens, Samir Maswadeh, self-demolished his house in the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in order to avoid paying new fines and building violations fees. Mohammad Abu Hummos explained that Samir Maswadeh and with the help of a group of young men self-demolished his house in the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud (the old Bethlehem Street) after he had been trying to obtain a building permit for the past eight years. Abu Hummos added that the occupation municipality imposed a 25-thousand NIS building violation fine on Samir who worked through the past eight years to postpone the demolition process in an attempt to obtain a building permit, but the demolition order was issued and had to be executed or otherwise a new building violation fine will be imposed on him in addition to the cost of demolishing the house. The house is90 square meters and is a home for eight individuals where most of them are minors; note that the house is roofed with bricks.
