Extensions of arrest and releases

The Magistrate court judge extended on Monday the arrest of 11 Jerusalemites and released others. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Rami Barakat from Al-Thori and Rami Rajabi from Kufor Aqab but was arrested in Al-Thori until Wednesday. He also extended the arrest of Ammar Gheith from Al-Thori until Wednesday; note that he was assaulted and severely beaten by the Israeli forces who managed to hit him on his leg where he recently underwent surgery. Ammar was presented to court on Monday and was unable to stand or walk on his leg. The court also extended the arrest of Raed Salmeh who is a senior student at Al-Quds University; note that he was unable to take his tests on Monday and Tuesday due to the arrest. The prosecution submitted a prosecutor’s permit to submit an indictment against Barakeh and extended his arrest until Wednesday. The police released Mousa Hadyeh without any conditions and the child Maher Samer Sarhan on condition of house arrest or 5 days. The Magistrate judge had extended last Sunday the arrest of Sameh Najib, Mohammad Najib, Nimer Bashir and Mouath Dandis until Wednesday and Majdi Karaki until Thursday. The judge also released Abdullah Da’na and Mohammad Tufaha on conditions of house arrest for 7 days and a third-party bail for each. He also released Nawras Abu Ghazaleh without conditions. The judge also extended on Sunday the arrest of Muhannad Safadi until Monday and to be released after with a 500-NIS bail and house arrest for 3 days. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the judge extended the arrest of Mahdi Abbasi until Tuesday and the forces arrested the 18-year old Nasr Abu Khdeir from the neighborhood of Shu’fat; the judge also extended the arrest of Nasr Abbasi until 4/11/2014.
