Sentencing 3 Jerusalemites- one of them sentenced for 35 years in prison

The District Court sentenced on Thursday the wounded Jerusalemite prisoner Ayman Hasan Mohammad Al-Kurd to 35 years in prison for "attempting to kill police officers with a knife in the area of Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem."

Amjad Abu Asab, chairman of the committee of the families of the Palestinian prisoners, said that the judges of the District Court issued a ruling against the injured prisoner, 35 years, in addition to paying financial compensation to the wounded soldiers worth NIS330 thousand.

Abu Asab added that prisoner Al-Kurd was arrested on 19/9/2016 in the area of Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem after being seriously injured by the soldiers that fired at him from close range. He suffers from paralysis in the lower limbs, and moves by a wheelchair and is in Al-Ramleh hospital prison.

In a related context, the judge sentenced Mohammad Shweiki to 9 months in prison and Mohamad Ibrahim Obeid to 6 months in prison.
