Al-Aqsa Mosque…Assaulting the worshippers and employees of the Islamic Endowments Department…Injuries and arrests
The Israeli occupation forces injured a group of Jerusalemites with various bruises while they were in Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with large-scale incursions of settlers on the eve of the Jewish “Kippur" holiday.
Firas Dibs, Public Relations and Information Officer in the Islamic Endowments Department, said that the occupation forces attacked the employees of the Islamic Endowments and several worshipers while they were in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and beat them severely and indiscriminately, turning the mosque into a military barracks where the police, special units and officers were deployed.
He added that the Israeli occupation forces provided full protection to the settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque. The total number of incursions on Tuesday during the morning and afternoon break-in session was 326 extremists. During this period, the police deployed outside the gates of the mosque and detained the ID cards of those entering, pointing out that the Israeli police have harassed the guards of Al-Aqsa during their work and their presence in the mosque.
He added that many people were injured and that they were transferred to Al-Aqsa clinics for treatment.
Injuries
Dr. Mohammad Jadallah from Al-Aqsa clinics explained that 7 injuries were transferred to the hospital for treatment. The injuries were mostly in the shoulders, chest and back.
Arrests
The Israeli occupation forces executed a series of arrests from Al-Aqsa courtyards and its gates. Among the detainees were: Raed Zghayyar, Haitham Halawani, Thaer Abu Sbeih, Ghaith Nasser Gheith, Mahmoud Al-Mowanes, Jihad Qos, Murad Ashhab, Mahmoud Abdullatif, Rami Al Fakhouri, Hamza Zghayyar and a young man - whose identity was not known.
The center learned that the Israeli police decided to release most of the detainees, with the exception of four of them. They were released on condition of deportation from the Old City and a NIS 2,000 bail for each.
During the past few days, the alleged temple groups have called for intensified intrusions of Al-Aqsa Mosque during these days to celebrate the "Sukkot” holiday, in addition to prayers at Al-Aqsa and its gates, and participating in prayers at Al-Buraq Square- eastern wall of Al-Aqsa.
