Pictures- settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform prayers…bans from the mosque
Hundreds of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on the third day of Sukkot holiday. They performed their prayers in the courtyard of the mosque and outside the gates concurrently with prayers in Al-Buraq Square at the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The occupation authorities also banned five Jerusalemites from entering Al-Aqsa.
Firas al-Dibs, Public Relations and Information Officer at the Islamic Endowments Department, said that 530 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa (382 during the morning and 148 in the afternoon) under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation forces, officers, intelligence and police.
Many of the settlers held their collective prayers in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and formed dance and singing rings as soon as they left the mosque through Al-Silsileh Gate.
In the area of Al-Hadeed Gate, dozens of settlers broke into the area carrying palm fronds and fruits, and performed prayers in addition to singing and playing music protected by the Israeli police.
The Israeli occupation authorities banned five Jerusalemites from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque after they were summoned for interrogationat Al-Qishleh police station in the Old City of Jerusalem. They are: Aida Sidawi for two weeks; firefighter Imad Abdeen for 10 days; Yacoub Dabbagh and Murad Ashhab for 3 months; and Rawhi Kulghasi for 6 months.
