Arrests from the village of Issawiya

Last Tuesday, the occupation forces launched a series of arrests in the village of Issawiya, in the city of Jerusalem.

Mohammad Abu Al-Hummus, a member of the follow-up committee in Issawiya, explained that the intelligence personnel and the occupation forces stormed the village and raided several homes and carried out arrest-warrants for boys and men.

The detainees are:

1. Mohammad Jayar

2. Rawhi Jayar

3. Rashid Darwish

4. Mohammad Musa Mustafa

5. Mohammad Haitham Mustafa

6. Adam Fadi Mustafa

7. Mohammad Issa Bader

8. Mahmoud Sultan

9. Mohammad Hamza Obaid

On Monday night, Mohammad Bakr Mustafa, turned himself in, after being summoned for investigation.

Abu Al-Hummus added that the occupation forces escalated during the last weeks the campaign of assaults in Issawiya, which included night raids of the neighborhoods and streets, especially the center of the country, where health centers and pharmacies are located, and the extensive use of gas canisters in the area, in addition to the establishment of police checkpoints inside the streets and at the entrances to the village, and searching vehicles, stopping locals in the street and checking their identities.
 

Abu Al-Hummus added that the municipal crews storm the village from time to time and distribute demolition notices and summons to follow up with the municipality, the last of which was on Sunday, when they raided the lands of Issawiya from the "south-eastern" side that is at risk of being confiscated in favor of the "national park."
