Day 123: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 123rd day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the occupation municipality's crews demolished a residential apartment in the Al-Bustan neighborhood, and an educational strike took place in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, and the siege imposed on the Al-Aqsa Mosque continued.
Demolition of a residential apartment in Al-Bustan neighborhood
The municipality crews demolished an apartment belonging to the al-Rajabi family in the Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan.
The municipal crews, accompanied by police officers, stormed the al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan, and spread out on Al-Ain Street and the entrances of the al-Bustan neighborhood, then raided an apartment for the al-Rajabi family and demolished it under the pretext of building without a license.
Nidal Al-Rajabi explained that the municipality demolished his brother's apartment with an area of 55 square meters, in conjunction with a session in the municipality for another apartment for the family.
Al-Rajabi said: "The municipality is trying to impose a racist plan in the Al-Bustan neighborhood, with the aim of confiscating the land, and we reject these plans despite the demolition operations and the continuous threat, and the families of the neighborhood and the owners of the land and through the engineering teams have been trying for years to license the buildings and maintain them and the land, and reject the plans of the municipality and the settlers."
The occupation municipality has been threatening for years to demolish the al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan to build the "King’s park” on its ruins, and from time to time distributes demolition notices and decisions to the residents, and has carried out several decisions during the recent period.
And over the past years, the residents of the Al-Bustan neighborhood submitted engineering plans to license the existing houses, and not to demolish them, but the plans were rejected.
Breaking into the "Vehicle Parking Lot/ Friday Market"
Joint crews from the "Natura and Parks Authority and Municipality" stormed the "Friday Market Parking Lot” at the entrance to the Yusufiya Cemetery located on the road leading to Lions Gate, in preparation for confiscating it and carrying out excavation work inside it.
The land owners confronted the crews and refused to allow them to do any work inside the land, confirming that the court did not make a decision regarding the issue of the land.
The land belongs to 3 Jerusalemite families, where the municipality is trying to lay hands on it.
Educational strike
In the village of Jabal al-Mukabber, a general educational strike took place in all the schools of the village at the invitation of the central parents' committee of the schools of Jabal al-Mukabber, denounced the crime against one of the students, Wadi’ Shadi Alayan who is in 9th grade in Ibn Al-Haytham Preparatory School for boys.
Alayan was killed yesterday at the entrance to the village of Ezaryeh, east of Jerusalem, and his body was taken into custody.
Siege on Al-Aqsa and settler incursions
The Israeli authorities continue to impose restrictions on worshipers entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque, for the fourth month in a row, and prevent many worshipers from entering and praying there, and continue to deploy their forces at the Al-Aqsa gates and placing iron barriers.
The settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa continue through Dung Gate, during the morning and afternoon incursions, where 125 settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa.
A call for the pilgrim to Al-Aqsa
The national and Islamic forces in Jerusalem called for the need to head to Al-Aqsa Mosque next Thursday and break the siege imposed on it on the occasion of the anniversary of Isra’ and Mi’raj.
It was stated in the statement by the national and Islamic forces: "Since October 7 of last year, the occupation imposes a cruel siege on Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, which makes the mosque empty most of the time, and the occupation police facilitate the incursions of the settlers into it, who wreak havoc in it and practice rituals inside it. And they act as if Al-Aqsa has become their own Jewish synagogue, not to mention the other crimes that are perpetrated against all components of the Holy City, its people, residents and visitors.
The statement called on all mosques in the governorate to close their doors on next Thursday and directed the worshipers and the masses of our people to perform all the prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, to celebrate the anniversary of Isra' and Mi’raj and not to leave it as prey for the colonial societies and the extremist colonizers.
The national and Islamic forces also called in their statement to prepare for being in Al-Aqsa Mosque in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, during which the occupation forces seek to impose strict restrictions on worshipers entering Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The national forces also called on the people of the Palestinian 1948 lands to head to Al-Aqsa.
Raids
The raids into the towns and neighborhoods of the city of Jerusalem continued, and the deployment in the streets of the city continued as well, and the forces pursued a young man and arrested him in the Lions Gate area.
On the other hand, a hearing was held for the 13-year-old Nawaf al-Salaymeh, and the prosecution demanded that he be transferred from his home, where he is under house arrest, to an institution in Tamra in the Palestinian 1948 lands, in preparation for his sentencing.
The lawyer of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the prosecution is demanding that he be sentenced to actual prison, while the court has been postponed until next June.
