Day 139: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation

On the 139th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", 3 young men from the city of Bethlehem carried out a "shooting" operation near the Z’ayem checkpoint in East Jerusalem, while the restrictions imposed on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa continued in addition to the raids into the neighborhoods and towns of the city.

Two martyrs and an injury...shooting operation

Three youths from the city of Bethlehem carried out a shooting near the Z’ayem checkpoint in East Jerusalem, killing an Israeli soldier and injuring 8 others, including 2 in critical condition, and the forces opened in the direction of the youths which led to the martyrdom of two youths and the third being critically wounded.

The Israeli police said in a statement that 3 men fired automatic weapons at vehicles on the road leading to Jerusalem "between the settlement of Ma'ale Adomim and the Z’ayem checkpoint".

The General Authority for Civil Affairs informed the Palestinian Ministry of Health that the two martyrs are Mohammad Issa Ali Zawahreh, 26 years old, and his brother Kazem, 31 years old, and the injured young man Ahmed Azzam Al-Wahsh, 32 years old.

The forces closed the Z’ayem checkpoint and the roads leading to it for more than two hours, and conducted investigations at the site. The forces also closed the entrance to the Ezaryeh checkpoint near the "Ma'ali Adomim" settlement and prevented the exit of vehicles and buses from it.

Al-Aqsa Mosque

The occupation authorities continued to impose their restrictions on worshipers entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque; by stopping those coming to it and detaining their identities and checking their identities, and randomly preventing them from entering Al-Aqsa, especially for young men and women.

Meanwhile, dozens of settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa through Dung Gate, and 269 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa, and prayed there.

Administrative detention

For the second time in a row, the Israeli authorities renewed the administrative detention against the young man Majdi Abbasi for 3 months, and against the young man Mufid Abbasi for two months.

The forces continued the incursions into the towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem, setting up checkpoints and stopping vehicles.
