Day 277 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
July 9, 2024

On the 277th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the Israeli occupation forced a Jerusalemite family to self-demolish their home, and the settlers’ incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque continued, as well as raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem.

Demolition and displacement

The occupation municipality forced the young man, Bshara Al-Muhtaseb, to self-demolish his apartment in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Bshara Al-Muhtaseb explained that the apartment had been in existence since 2017, and a fine was imposed on him with “unlicensed building” worth 20,000 shekels. At the beginning of this year, the municipality issued a demolition decision for the apartment, and he received a call from the police in the evening asking him to carry out the immediate demolition, otherwise the municipality and its crews would carry out the demolition operation and therefore he is forced to pay the costs of demolition (“demolition fee”).

Al-Muhtaseb added that five people live in the house, including children and a woman.

Al-Aqsa Mosque

Settlers' raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque continue, and 125 extremists stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, through the Dung Gate, the keys of which have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

The settlers performed their prayers during the storming of Al-Aqsa, and were given explanations by “the rabbis about the so-called alleged temple.”

The alleged temple groups said that 40,486 settlers have stormed Al-Aqsa since the beginning of this year.

Storming towns and neighborhoods

The forces continued to storm towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, and set up checkpoints in the streets.

In the early morning hours, forces accompanied by the municipality stormed Shu’fat refugee camp and placed a demolition order on a 5-story residential building.

The forces also stormed the village of Issawiya and raided the house of Yasser Darwish, secretary of the Fatah movement in the village, and vandalized its contents.

In the afternoon, the forces arrested the young Jerusalemite woman, Zeina Barbar, from Al-Aqsa, and extended her detention until tomorrow.

On the other hand, the young man Anas Al-Shalloudi was sentenced to actual imprisonment for 33 months.

The young man Qais Mustafa from the village of Issawiya was also sentenced to 10 months in prison; it is noteworthy that he was arrested in February of this yea
