Day 280 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
July 12, 2024

On the 280th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the occupation authorities continued to impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa to perform the “Dawn and Noon” prayers, while a Jerusalemite family carried out the demolition of their house with their own hands, and the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the forces set up checkpoints on the roads leading to Al-Aqsa, especially the Lions Gate road, and were stationed at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the Old City. At the gates of Al-Aqsa, they stopped young men and prevented many of them from entering Al-Aqsa, and forced them to leave outside the Old City.

The forces also checked the identities of the arrivals, carried out a body search for young men and boys, and searched the women’s purses and bags.

Worshipers told the Information Center, "The occupation authorities are trying, through 'search, and arrest' procedures at the gates of Al-Aqsa, to discourage us from heading to Al-Aqsa to pray there. They are also trying to prevent us from praying at the thresholds of Al-Aqsa, and are pursuing young men and boys in particular."

Demolition

The occupation municipality forced the Jerusalemite Walid Idkeidik to self-demolish his house in Beit Hanina, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Idkeidik explained that the house has been in existence since 2016, its area is 150 square meters, and 6 people live in it.

He added that the municipality issued the demolition decision, and it was appealed to the district and Supreme courts, but the decision was confirmed and the appeal was rejected.

Idkeidik added that the municipality refused to license the house in recent years, while imposing fines for “unlicensed construction” amounting to more than 200,000 shekels.

Raids

The raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued, and this morning, the forces stormed the village of Issawiya and arrested a young man.

The forces also set up police checkpoints on the city streets.
