Day 371 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 371st day of "Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, the occupation authorities imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers, and assaulted young men by beating them while preventing them from entering Al-Aqsa, while the occupation authorities began closing streets and roads on the eve of "Yom Kippur" holiday.
Al-Aqsa on Friday
The occupation authorities prevented hundreds of worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers, while the Islamic Endowments estimated the number of worshipers who were allowed to enter Al-Aqsa at 30 thousand worshipers.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the occupation forces deployed their forces in large numbers at the gates and roads of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and at the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, and prevented hundreds of worshipers, especially young men and boys, from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Information Center monitored the forces assaulting dozens of worshipers, young men and elderly, with their hands and batons, and pushing them, while most of those coming to Al-Aqsa were subjected to checking their IDs and searching their bags, even those with children.
The center added that the forces set up 4 checkpoints in the Lions Gate area and its surroundings: “the main road checkpoint, a checkpoint on the land known as the “Friday Market”, iron barricades and dozens of soldiers at Lions Gate (the Old City), and a large presence at Lions Gate (the Al-Aqsa Mosque Gate), and monitored the beating and expulsion of dozens of young men at these checkpoints. The forces also pursued the worshipers at Hutta Gate and King Faisal Gate, and pursued them and forcibly expelled them towards Al-Wad Street.
The young men who were prevented from entering Al-Aqsa prayed in the streets and at the nearest point they could reach.
In Al-Aqsa, during the second (rak'ah) of Friday prayers, a technical malfunction occurred in the speakers, and the worshipers were forced to complete their prayers individually.
The Islamic Endowments Department explained that what happened was caused by "an explosion in the sound system complex."
"Yom Kippur" Closures
As every year on "Yom Kippur", the occupation authorities closed the roads, streets, bridges and tunnels in the city of Jerusalem, and placed cement blocks, iron barriers and red tape at the entrances to the neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem and its streets, especially at the intersections of the roads leading to the settlements built on its lands and the nearby streets leading to them, and the scene of closures will continue until the evening hours of Saturday.
