May 20, 2013

The Israeli bulldozers demolished on Monday morning a mobile office which is used for Al-Joulani car dealership in Sheikh Jarrah-Jerusalem. A large number of Israeli forces surrounded the whole neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah at around 5:30 a.m., and closed all the roads leading to it, and then took off the main gate of the dealership before the arrival of the owner, and started working by taking out the tools and equipment used to clean the cars from inside the mobile office.Other cut off the electric wires that surround the dealership. The owner, Mohammad Joulani, told Wadi Hilweh Information Center: “I was surprised when I received a call from the demolition crews to inform me that I need to immediately come to the dealership and remove all the cars in order for them to execute the demolition and evacuation order.” He confirmed that the demolition of the dealership was sudden and without prior notice, under the pretext of not having a permit to use the land as a car dealership. He also noted that he has been trying to issue a permit for the past three years, and he has never been fined nor had a demolition order to the facilities noting that he has been there for six years. Joulani estimated his losses for the day around 300 thousand NIS, knowing that he is leasing the land.
