Postponing the trial of five activists from Jerusalem
July 15, 2013

The Magistrate court judge postponed the trial of five activists from Jerusalem until the 27th of November 2013, on charges of assaulting police individuals and obstructing their work in addition to participating in an illegal demonstration. The activists are: Omar Al-Shalabi, secretary general of Fateh movement in Jerusalem, and Mousa Abbasi, head of the Palestinian Youth Parliament, Malek Haddad, former prisoner Kayed Al-Rajabi and Fadi Abu Sbeih. The court’s judge imposed today a fine of 1000 NIS on Fadi Abu Sbeih for not attending the court session. The court history goes back to 2009, where the activists participated in the closing activities of "Jerusalem, Capital of Arab Culture" in Damascus gate. They were then arrested and were released with bonds and on condition of house arrest. However, the police called them up last April and reopened the file for trial, and according to the public prosecution witnesses from the police will be heard about how the activists assaulted them. 1069364_10153015869330573_343379441_n
