Arrests in Bab Hutta and Esawyeh….extending the arrest of 8 Jerusalemites and the release of 5 others including children

The District and Magistrate courts extended on Sunday the arrest of eight Jerusalemites for few more days to continue investigating them and released five others with bails and conditions of house arrest. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli forces arrested seven Jerusalemites in the old city of Jerusalem and Esawyeh including children. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, explained that the Magistrate court extended on Sunday the arrest of Mohammad Hussein Obeid until 25/8, knowing that he is being investigated inside Al-Maskobyeh cells and has had a confidential session on Sunday. The court also extended the arrest of 17-year old Shahin Ibrahim Alyan and 16-year old Mohammad Alyan until the 21st of August on charges of assaulting a settler, knowing that they were arrested on Sunday early morning hours after raiding their home in Esawyeh. Mohammad Mahmoud added that the judge decided to release 13-year old Mohammad Abu Sneineh from the neighbourhood of Bab Hutta and 18-year old Ahmad Badrieh with a bail of 500 NIS and house arrest for 5 days. The Center was informed that the Magistrate court judge released 15-year old Mahmoud Mohammad Tamimi with a bail of 1200 NIS and house arrest for 5 days and also released Fouad Shawish with a 500-NIS bail and 5 days of house arrest. The judge also extended the arrest of Ahmad Dirbas from Esawyeh to continue investigating him. The Center was also informed that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of Nizar Ashhab until next Wednesday to continue investigating him in the cells of Al-Maskobyeh, knowing that he was arrested on the 6th of the current month. The District court extended the arrest of three young men from Silwan and they are: 19-year old Jalal Jamal Shkeir and his 18-year old brother Yehya and Mohammad Jweiles until next Tuesday. The prosecution submitted an indictment against them that included charges of throwing stones at “Egged” busses in Damascus gate and injuring settlers. The Magistrate court judge released Murad Mheisen last Friday with a bail of 1100 NIS and house arrest for a week.
