Clashes at Damascus Gate and Shu’fat refugee camp
The Israeli forces arrested on Tuesday afternoon the young man Wajd Ghosheh during clashes that broke out at Damascus gate; clashes also broke out in Shu’fat refugee camp to protest against the assassination of three young men from Shu’fat refugee camp. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that several Jerusalemites carried out a sit-in in the courtyard of Damascus gate, in mourning for the souls of the martyrs. The participants raised banners that said “Martyrs are better than all of us” and “continuing the Martyrs’ path”. The participants tried to start a march in the streets of Jerusalem, but the Israeli forces confronted them and sprayed them with gas on their faces. Clashes broke out in the evening at the entrance of Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint between the Israeli forces and young men of the camp. The young men threw stones at the soldiers present at the checkpoint and burnt tires; the soldiers fired gas bombs and rubber bullets towards the young men in which several locals suffocated.
