Releasing the child Mahmoud Da’na on condition of house arrest
The Israeli Magistrate court Judge released 14-year old Mahmoud Isam Da’na on Monday with a bail of 1000 NIS and house arrest for 10 days. The child’s father explained that the judge agreed to release his son with a bail and house arrest conditions and allowing him to go to school with a companion (father, mother or brother) knowing that the charges against him include throwing stones at and Israeli settler’s car and breaking one of its windows. The child’s father told Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the Israeli forces arrested his son at 9 p.m. on Saturday while he was in a fast food restaurant in Ein Al-Lozeh. Witnesses said that the forces, who were accompanied by borders police individuals, broke into the restaurant and pointed at Mahmoud and then arrested him. The father added: “Mahmoud was taken to Salah Eddin Street police station, and was investigated alone for several hours. Despite his young age, the investigator did not allow me to attend my son’s investigation and at 02:30 a.m. they decided to extend his arrest until Sunday to present him to court. During the hearing that was held at the Magistrate court, his arrest was extended until Monday where he was released with the above mentioned conditions.”
