The occupation digs new tunnels in Silwan and continues the building of “Tawrati” Center
“Al-Aqsa Heritage” foundation said in a statement last Sunday that the Israeli occupation recently started digging new and deep tunnels within the tunnel excavations in Silwan which extends from the area of Ein Silwan until the outskirts of Al-Aqsa Mosque where excavations are taking place on the surface of the earth and underneath in the upper area of Al-Ein- Silwan (the southern side of Al-Aqsa Mosque) resulting in the unfolding of huge rocks. The foundation explained that the Israeli occupation continues the building and construction of “Tawrati” Center near the upper area of Al-Ein; note that this project was named “Al-Ein house” with an area of 200 square meters and includes the building of a “religious purifier” and will be connected with the tunnels being built underneath Al-Aqsa Mosque. The foundation also said that the occupation recently added new stations to the tunnels network in Silwan within its excavations, and concentrated on opening new stations in the upper area of Al-Ein and its surroundings both of top and underneath the earth especially in the area of the water spring. These excavations resulted in the unfolding of huge rocks and the center’s staff monitored the opening of a big hole that leads to the bottom of the new excavations. “Al-Aqsa Foundation” also confirmed that the occupation continues the execution of the Judaization project called “Al-Ein house” where the “Tawrati” Center will be built and will include a “tourist” site and other religious sites. In a regular field visit, the foundation confirmed that the construction works are almost done and a series of surveillance cameras have been installed around the above mentioned location and is anticipated to be opened soon. The foundation pointed out that the occupation aims at connecting this project with the tunnels network in Silwan and the tunnels underneath Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the scheme of the Biblical gardens that stretch out from the south of Silwan towards the north of Al-Aqsa and surround Al-Aqsa and the Old City of Jerusalem from all sides and reach out to the village of Esawyeh.
