Sentencing two young men and extending the arrest of 10 Jerusalemites

The District court judge sentenced on Wednesday Emad Abbasi for 11 months of actual imprisonment and Ashraf Abbasi for 13 months and a suspended probation of six months for two years on charges of throwing stones in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attempt to buy weapons; note that they have been arrested since last October and were exposed to harsh interrogation in the cells of Al-Maskobyeh as told by Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud. In a related matter, that Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of Khalil Naser and Ahmad Abu Roomy until next Sunday; note that they were arrested on Wednesday morning from the village of Esawyeh. The judge also extended the arrest of Mahmoud Abu Roomy who was arrested recently from his home in the village. The public prosecution submitted an indictment to the District court on Wednesday against the 19-year old Ayman Abu Nijmeh, 18-year old Majdi Emran Aweida and 18-year old Omar Mazen Abu Khater that included charged of throwing stones; as a result, the judge extended their arrest until next Wednesday. The public prosecution also submitted an indictment to the Magistrate court against Anas Jawad Eweisat, Basel Ahmad Obeidat, Omar Ali Abdo and Ahmad Sroor that included charges of planning to carry out a shooting inside wedding hall in the area “Bet Faghan” in West Jerusalem. According to the indictment, they planned to enter the hall wearing a “religious Jewish uniform” and open fire at the people using automatic weapons that they were planning to buy from the West Bank. Wadi Hilweh Information Center pointed out that Ahmad Sroor was arrested at the beginning of this month and the other three were arrested on 17/01/2014 and they are all from Jabal Al-Mukabber.
