Jerusalem rises up for the Martyrs and Al-Aqsa…arrests and injuries
March 11, 2014

Violent clashes broke out on Tuesday night at Damascus Gate between the Israeli forces and young men who peacefully protested against the Martyrdom of six Palestinians and violating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The Israeli forces arrested five Jerusalemites including Khaled Aton and Omar and Hamada Barqawi as said by Naser Qos, director of Prisoner’s Club in Jerusalem.  Several other young men and woman were injured with rubber bullets, sound grenades after being assaulted by the Israeli forces and hit with batons; ten people were transferred to the hospitals for treatment. Witnesses said that dozens of Jerusalemites organized a peaceful march and sit-in at Damascus Gate to condemn the martyrdom of six Palestinians within hours (from the West bank and Gaza strip), and the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque in front of Muslims and students. While heading towards Sultan Suleiman Street, the forces brutally attacked and assaulted them and did not exclude the elderly, women, journalists and ambulance crews.
