Nearly seven thousand book readers surrounded the walls of Jerusalem on Sunday in the activity of “longest book readers around the walls of Jerusalem” that was organized by the “Country’s Youth Initiative”. The Jerusalemite activist and director of “Country’s Youth Initiative”, Hussam Alyan, said that seven thousand book readers surrounded the walls of Jerusalem coinciding with the participation of 8 thousand other readers in the city of Bethlehem, Al-Ram and Al Isma'iliyah in Egypt and Amman where the total number of participants was nearly 15 thousands. He explained that the activity in Jerusalem initiated from Damascus Gate towards Jaffa Gate New Gate (West) and Herod’s Gate and Lions Gate (East). He added that most of the readers donated their books that they have read to build libraries in Jabal Al-Masharef, Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Hakawati Theatre).
