The Israeli police continue their series of arrests in the city of Jerusalem since the beginning of July. The police said in statement on Wednesday that they arrested 295 Jerusalemites and submitted indictments against 71 of them. According to the daily follow-up by Wadi Hilweh Information Center, the Israeli police arrested Baha’ Ahmad Abulhawa, Mohammad Wael Abulhawa from Al-Tur on Wednesday early morning hours and extended their arrest until Friday. They also arrested Mohammad Emran Abu Khdeir, Abed Emran Abu Khdeir, Tarek Aziz Abu Khdeir and Mahmoud Hussein Abu Khdeir from Shu’fat and extended their arrest until Monday according to Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud. In a related matter, lawyer Mahmoud said that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of Bashar Obeid until 28/07/2014 and Mohammad Abbasi until 27/07/2014. He explained that a court session was held on Wednesday for Majd Abu Rammouz and the judge decided to release him with a financial bail and house arrest but the public prosecution appealed the decision in the District court and he was not released. The judge also refused to release Naser Abu Sbeih from Beit Hanina and Mohammad Abu Mayaleh with financial bail despite the so-called conduct officer’s positive report but the prosecution requested the judge not to release him because of the high tension in the city of Jerusalem. Lawyer Mohammad denounced not releasing the young men and children and said that it’s a systematic policy against Jerusalemites under the pretext of the occurrence of clashes in their residential areas. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the police arrested the 53-year old Ahmad Hasan A’bed on Tuesday afternoon from Shu’fat after verbal altercations broke out between him and the police when he was stopped. He was presented to the Magistrate court on Wednesday and the judge decided to release him with a financial bail but the prosecution refused and appealed the decision in the District court; note that another session will be held on Thursday The judge also extended the arrest of Murad Alayan until 29/07/2014.
