Established since 1945: an administrative demolition order for the house of Dr Jamal Amro
December 15, 2014

The municipality crews handed on Monday an administrative demolition order for the house of Dr Jamal Amro in the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh east of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. Dr Amro explained that the house has been established since 1945 and consists of two floors where the first floor is 140 square meters and the roof is 70 square meters; note that 19 individuals reside in both floors. Dr Amro also said that the municipality’s decision to demolish the house is a political decision to punish the family as his wife has been arrested more than once and was also isolated from Al-Aqsa Mosque and because his oldest son Radwan is an employee of the Islamic Awqaf. He also explained that they did not find anything else to punish them with because of their beliefs and so they started attacking them with unjust decisions that are very dangerous and that form a new way of punishing Jerusalemites.
