December 26, 2014

A young man stabbed two soldiers on Friday early morning while they were near Lions Gate –one of Al-Aqsa Gates- and only meters away from Al-Aqsa Mosque; the young man managed to run away. The Israeli forces were deployed for more than 3 hours near Lions Gate and searched several cars and checked the IDs of the young men in addition to precisely searching their bodies in a provocative way. The Israeli forces also arrested on Friday the child Msallam Odeh from the neighborhood of Al-Bustan and the 18-year old Mohammad Sharawneh from the neighborhood of Bi’er Ayoub in Silwan; they were both released. The forces also arrested Amjad Dandis and Mohammad Daoud Naser. Witnesses said that the Israeli police arrested on Friday the 13-year old Hamada Daoud Naser while he was heading home in the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud. Upon arrival near the settlement, the soldiers arrested him and detained him inside the settlement. The police released on Friday the 17-year old Ahmad Daoud Siam and his 16-year old brother Mohammad without presenting them to court. Daoud Siam explained that his sons were assaulted while being interrogated at Al-Maskobyeh and bruises were obvious on their bodies. Clashes broke out on Friday night in the neighborhood of Wad Al-Joz and the young men threw Molotov Cocktails and firecrackers towards the police cars that were stationed at the entrance of the neighborhood. During the clashes, the Musta’ribeen (undercover) unit raided the neighborhood and arrested one young man after assaulting and severely beating him.
