Sentencing two young men from Al-Tur…and extensions of arrest

The Magistrate judge sentenced last Tuesday two young Jerusalemite men from Al-Tur. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Magistrate judge sentenced the 20-year old Mousa Abulhawa for 11 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 6 months for three years. The judge also sentenced Mohammad Akram Abulhawa for 6 months and one day of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of six months for three years. The lawyer added that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Mahmoud Zaghal until completing the legal procedures against him and refused to release with a financial bail and house-arrest conditions. The public prosecution submitted a prosecutor’s permit to submit an indictment against Anas Obeid and Mousa Obeid and extended their arrest until 24/4/2015. The lawyer also said that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Fouad Rweidi until 28/6/2015, Mahmoud Gheith until 25/5/2015 and Odai Bayoumi until 9/6/2015 for sentencing. The judge also extended the arrest of Tarek Kurd until next Tuesday and a session was scheduled for Bashar Jbareen on 4/6/2015 (witnesses hearing session); note that he is not detained. A session was held on Tuesday to reduce the “releasing conditions” of the child Mohammad Younes Abulhawa and the judge agreed to allow him to go to school. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation forces arrested on Monday night the 13-year old Nour Jamal Gheith from the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan. They also arrested on Tuesday afternoon a young man from Salah Eddin Street and took him to the police station in that street. The 15-year old Ahmad Shweiki was also arrested on Monday night after the forces raided his house in the neighborhood of Abbasyeh in Silwan.
