Extending the arrest of 7 Jerusalemite children

The Magistrate judge extended on Wednesday the arrest of six children from the neighborhood of Beit Hanina and decided to release another but the police appealed his decision at the District court and requested to extend his arrest. The Musta’ribeen (undercover) unit had arrested the seven children when they were near “Shuman” Mosque in Beit Hanina and severely beat them during the arrest and injured them with bruises and wounds. The children are: Mohammad Jaber (13), Murad Alqam (14), Nour Eddin Abu Hadwan (15), Omar Tawil (14), Omar Yassin (14) who is an American citizen, Mohammad Tayeh and Saleh Shtayyeh (15). The lawyer of Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Alqam, Abu Hadwan, Tawil, Yassin and Tayeh until next Sunday on charges of throwing stones at Israeli forces. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Shtayyeh until Sunday and decided to release Jaber with a 1000-NIS bail and house-arrest for 5 days but the police appealed the decision at the District court and the releasing decision was put on hold until Thursday.
