Arresting the 10-year old Ahmad Shweiki

The occupation authorities arrested on Sunday the 10-year old Jerusalemite Ahmad Jasem Shweiki who is a resident of the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the occupation forces arrested the child Shweiki while he was in Al-Thori and then transferred him to Salah Eddin Street police station. The child’s father explained that Special Forces personnel arrested his child while he was in front of his house playing with his friends. He was transferred to the police station for interrogation and remained under arrest from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The father noted that the police did not allow any of the child’s family members to attend the interrogation and only his father was allowed to enter the interrogation room one and half hours after the interrogation started. Ahmad’s father added that he found out about his son from the neighbors and the authorities did not inform him of the matter He added: “What happened with my child is a kidnapping and not arrest.” He ensured that he will file a claim to the competent authorities. He also added that the forces released his son on condition of referring him to a social affairs’ specialist.
