On the eve of the so-called “Destruction of the Temple”…the arrest of 16 Jerusalemites
The occupation forces carried out a series of arrests against young men and children in Jerusalem on the eve of the so-called “Destruction of the Temple” amid calls of Jewish groups to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday’s morning. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the occupation police arrested 16 Jerusalemites from Thursday night until Friday morning where most of the arrests occurred in the Old City of Jerusalem. The detainees are: Rawhi Kulghasi, Fadi Mohammad Burghal, Abdel Mu’ti Ja’bari, Mohammad Abu Sneineh, Obada Najib, Aboud Haddad, Ahmad Ghazzawi, Ma’moon Gheith, Wahid Bakri, Mohammad Abu Farha, Mohammad Basti, Eyad Ghawaj, Omar Ibrahim, Ahmad Shawish, Abdullah Da’na and Mahmoud Shawish. Clashes in the village of Esawyeh Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that clashes broke out in the village after the Israeli occupation forces raided the neighborhood of Abu Rayyaleh. Abu Hummos also explained that the occupation forces randomly fired tear-gas grenades in between the residential houses which led to a fire in a balcony owned by Qawasmi family. Abu Hummos added that dozens of locals suffocated due to tear-gas grenades.
