In pictures: The occupant assaults two of Al-Aqsa guards
Two employees of the Islamic Awqaf Department were injured on Tuesday with bruises after the occupation Special Forces assaulted them while on duty at the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Special Forces severely beat two of Al-Awqaf employees who work as guards at Al-Aqsa Mosque (Mwafaq Hamami and Hamzeh Nimer). The forces attacked them with batons and pushed them to the ground before brutally assaulting them. Witnesses added that the guards suffered several bruises and were transferred to the hospital for treatment. They also added that one settler pushed a woman and verbally insulted her while she was at Al-Aqsa (near Al-Qibali Mosque) resulting in verbal altercations. Special Forces immediately came and surrounded the worshippers and then assaulted the two guards. A sit-in at Al-Silsileh Gate Worshippers prevented from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque due to being on the “black list” continued their sit-in at Al-Silsileh Gate and chanted “God is Great” in front of the occupation forces stationed at the gate. The center was informed that the occupation authorities prevented Nitham Abu Rammouz, Taha Shawahneh and Kheir Shaymi from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque upon an order from the occupation’s officer under the pretext of “harassing settlers”.
