Clashes: Jerusalem rises up in support of Al-Aqsa
Clashes broke out on Thursday night in Silwan, Al-Tur, Esawyeh and Shu’fat refugee camp to condemn the targeting and continuous break-ins, raids and assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque by the occupation forces and settlers. Al-Tur… Large Israeli forces including Special Forces personnel raided the village of Al-Tur- main street- and tried to provoke a group of young men while they were at the village’s coffee shop. The forces requested the owner to close the coffee shop for now reason and then forced him to take the plastic chairs inside. Witnesses explained that the forces were stationed at the gates of commercial stores to provoke the residents, and added that the forces raided the cemetery of Mount of Olives after breaking the locks and stepped on the graves. They also raided Mount of Olives Club and body-searched some children and prevented the residents from getting to the club. Occupation forces also raided the entrances of several houses in the village of Al-Tur and threatened some young to fire live bullets at them if they do not evacuate the street. Residents pointed out that the forces were also stationed in Suleiman Al-Farisi Street on Thursday afternoon at the same time when students were leaving their schools, and randomly fired sound grenades and rubber bullets in the area. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that fire broke out in an “Egged” bus after Molotov Cocktails were thrown at it; no injuries reported. The forces closed the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud and prevented the residents from moving and going back to their homes; they also stopped some young men, checked their IDs and searched them. Violent clashes also broke out in Ras Al-Amoud and the forces sprayed wastewater towards the houses and property. In the neighborhoods of Bi’er Ayoub and Al-Bustan, the forces randomly and heavily fired sound grenades. The forces detained the 13-year old Mahmoud Ashoor in the police vehicle and the child explained that he was interrogated on charges of throwing stones. Esawyeh and Shu’fat refugee camp The village of Esawyeh and Shu’fat refugee camp witnessed violent clashes between the occupation forces and young men. The forces closed the camp’s checkpoint during the clashes and heavily fired sound grenades and tear gas in the area. In the village of Esawyeh, several residents suffocated due to the heavy firing of tear-gas in the streets and alleys of the village.
