The occupation arrests 23 Jerusalemites from Esawyeh and Silwan
The occupation forces carried out a series of arrests in the village of Esawyeh and Silwan on Monday early morning and arrested 23 Jerusalemites including 11 minors. Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer explained that the occupation forces arrested three minors from the village of Esawyeh and 8 others from the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan. The detainees are: Nadim Zahra, Mahmoud Mheisen and Jamil Mheisen from Esawyeh and Sharif Abu Rmeileh (16), Sufian Idris (16), Amir Abu Nijmeh (16), Ismaeel Annous (13), Ala’ Bazlameet (16), Mohammad Abu Nijmeh (15), Hamzeh Syouri (16) and Ahmad Naser (14). The lawyer explained that the forces -according to the detainees- assaulted Sharif Abu Rmeileh and deliberately hit him on his burned arm; they also assaulted the child Ismaeel Annous with the butts of their guns on his back and arms. The lawyer added that the forces deliberately detained the minors at Al-Maskobyeh police center while handcuffed to the back and forced them to sit on the floor. After the lawyer arrived, he asked the officer in charge to release the handcuffs and afterwards their hands’ position was changed to the front. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the forces arrested the young men Fadi Atyeh, Sufian Mahmoud, Amir Mustafa and Mahmoud Awadallah from Esawyeh and Bashar Abu Rajab (19) and Mohammad Naser (19) from Silwan. Most of the detainees were transferred to Al-Maskobyeh “Room number 4” for interrogation while three detainees were transferred to O’z police center for interrogation by the unit of “tracking down stone throwers” which was formed last week. In the village of Al-Tur, the force arrested Mohammad Jaser Abulhawa, Mohammad Abu Jom’a, Salman Abu Sbitan and Ahmad Ashayer. Forces also arrested Ahmad Dirbas and Mahmoud Dirbas from the village of Esawyeh. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the forces raided the houses of Ghanem Kamal Mustafa, Midhat Ibrahim Obeid and Sheikh Yousef Shreiteh Abu Huthayfa. The forces handed Ata Mohammad Dirbas a call for interrogation. The force also arrested Khadijeh Khweis and Sameeha Shahin on Sunday while coming back from Jordan.
